Two Birmingham priests honoured by Holy Father

(Birmingham's most recent Mgr)

This great story from Peter Jennings, available on his website reports:

Pope Benedict XVI has honoured two long-serving parish priests in the Archdiocese of Birmingham, Mgr Canon David Cousins and Fr Anthony Wilcox.

Mgr David Cousins, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart, Four Oaks since 1978, and Judicial Vicar and Head of the Marriage Tribunal for 31 years, 1978-99, has been made a Protonotary Apostolic – one of the most ancient offices in the Church.

Mgr Anthony Wilcox, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart, Henley-on-Thames since 1992, has been made a Domestic Prelate with the title of “Monsignor”.

I'm sure their parishes will be very proud of them, as indeed are we all.

A truly great honour. Read the full article here.
