St Francis Xavier

Pray for us

On Sancian, an island of China, the birthday of St. Francis Xavier, priest of the Society of Jesus, confessor, and Apostle of the Indies. He was famed for his conversion of the heathens, his supernatural gifts and miracles. Rich in merit and good works, he died in the Lord. The Sovereign Pontiff, Pius X, chose and appointed him the heavenly patron of the Society and the work for the Propagation of the Faith. By order of Pope Alexander VII, his feast is celebrated on December 3.

Thanks to Catholic Church Conservation for this.

  1. As a heathen, I've been waiting 44 years for someone to come and convert me. You guys don't get out and about much any more, do you? Every time I look up to the clouds, all I see is rain. What I'd give to catch a glimpse of some bare-breasted, handsome but pious dude floating up there ready to set me on the right path. Perhaps I'm taking the wrong kind of drugs.

  2. Stay-At-Home Indie-Pop thanks for your thoughts. Maybe the person sent to set you on the right path isn't floating above you but rather there in the midst of your life and just waiting for you to hear him speak. Maybe the drug of choice needs to be love. Maybe the inspiration of guys like Francis Xavier are who you need. Why don't you ask him to help?

  4. Umm, I don't think he's using the ethernet, so much as the eternalnet these days. Let me know how you go on.
